Scott’s House Provides Compassionate End-of-Life Care

United Way of Northern New Mexico Funded Parter, Scott’s House, is a social model hospice house providing free residence and 24/7 care in a compassionate, one-on-one setting. Since 2019, Scott’s House has served individuals from Rio Arriba and Los Alamos Counties, offering a safe and dignified home for those at the end of life. Their mission focuses on equity, ensuring everyone receives quality care regardless of their background or economic status. By relieving the economic and emotional burdens on families, Scott’s House enhance housing stability and quality of life. With referrals from local hospitals and hospice agencies, they support about 400 individuals annually, addressing a critical gap in end-of-life care, especially in rural communities. As New Mexico’s senior population grows, the services provided by Scott’s House become increasingly vital. Their dedicated team, including retired MDs, RNs, hospice caregivers, and doulas, ensures that every resident's physical, mental, and spiritual needs are met with dignity and compassion.
